At the November 19, 2024 meeting of the Lemont-Bromberek Combined School District 113A Board of Education, results from a recent audit were shared, highlighting the district’s continued commitment to financial management and transparency.
In addition to highlighting a number of accomplishments in recent years, it was also noted that fiscal health is a key part of the district’s ongoing internal communication focus along with continued transparency with the wider community.
Through continued focus and work of the Board of Education, the district is in a stable position financially. Over the course of the past years, the district has reopened Central School, added additional programming including full-day kindergarten and has provided ongoing professional development for staff.
"The state of our district is strong, and we remain focused on building a bright future," said Superintendent Dr. Courtney Orzel. "While we are facing challenges with growing enrollment and limited space, this increase in enrollment is a testament to our unwavering commitment to providing an exceptional education for the students and families we serve."
Some accomplishments that were highlighted include:
- District 113A has continued to maintain its best bond rating in the last 15 years.
- Multiple bond upgrades: most recently in July 2023 by S & P to AA+ with a stable outlook (upgraded from AA)
- Including 2024, 12 consecutive financial recognition scores of the highest rating from Illinois State Board of Education
- ASBO 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 Financial Recognition Award
“As a Board, we are continuously focused on fiscal responsibility, stability and transparency,” said Board President Damon Ascolani. “These recognitions and accomplishments are good reminders that we are on the right track financially and are purposeful in our planning for the needs of all our students.”
The SD113A Board of Education is made up of seven community members who are elected to serve four year terms. Current members include:
