Nicolette O’Boyle, Second Grade Teacher - River Valley
“Being a new educator can be very challenging and stressful. In Lemont, you are supported by incredible experienced staff, instructional coaches, and administration. As a new teacher, you are also given a mentor teacher to help guide you throughout your year as well. My mentor was not only an amazing mentor, but she became an incredible friend. She was able to help give constant advice and guidance to me about classroom management strategies and the pacing/structure of our curriculums.”
Kate Carlson, Social Worker - River Valley
“I love working in Lemont because I am invested in Lemont. I am a mom of three children that all go to this school district and have always been impressed by SD113A. I have no plans to move out of this school district because I'm truly invested and want to see all kids in my community grow socially and emotionally. I love seeing students grow and succeed!”
Alex Dennis, Special Education - Old Quarry
“I truly have never felt more supported as a first year teacher. It is extremely frightening to be a first year, because you are new and surrounded by mostly experienced teachers. I was welcomed by the team with open arms and shown that I was valued. I also receive feedback and am complimented on my work often. It is the best feeling to know that I can trust anyone in the building to help and listen to me at any time!”
Grace Crosby, Fourth Grade Teacher - Central
“I love teaching in SD113A because of the people. Each building is filled with people who care about you and your growth as an educator as well as you as a person and I feel supported by my team and enjoy coming to work because of them. As a new teacher my mentor made sure I was well informed and supported. The instructional coach was also a huge part of my success as well as she was ready to jump in and support me whenever needed in any area.”
Elizabeth Brendich, Seventh Grade Teacher - Old Quarry
“I love teaching in Lemont because of the incredible community it has. I have worked with the most welcoming staff and administrators as well as got to collaborate and build relationships with amazing students and families. Lemont has such a strong sense of community that shows commitment to student success and teacher development.”
Morgan Andreoni, Third Grade Teacher - River Valley
“The support in Lemont is extensive. From mentor teachers and programs, building principals and assistant principals and grade level team members, new teachers have various resources to feel successful from day one. I feel supported, and respected and our administration allows for our voices to be heard, and for our creativity to be expressed. I love the community in Lemont!"
